Morton Dental Group is one of the fastest growing, privately owned dental groups in middle Tennessee. Founded by Dr. Skylor Morton in 2022, the group has grown to 7 locations and over 40 team members with additional expansion on the horizon.
“This company was founded on the belief that delivering the highest quality care to our patients begins with building a team of talented individuals. By providing top-level training, robust support, opportunities for career advancement, and continued education, we foster an office culture of fulfillment, ambition, and growth. We understand that Morton Dental Group is not for everyone – it is for those who are committed to becoming the best, because that is what it takes to provide the exceptional care our patients deserve.”
– Dr. Skylor Morton
Dr. Skylor Morton is a 2019 graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Being from a small rural town in New Mexico, he knew he wanted to branch out and see what possibilities a very robust and rapidly growing area such as Nashville could offer.
He opened a startup office in Gallatin, TN and an existing office in Brentwood, TN in the months following graduation. This sounded like a great idea for an overzealous 25 year old, and as many dental practice owners know, would lead to many struggles and sleepless nights. The occasional win would be just enough to keep our teams pushing forward.
He figured there had to be a better way than to ride the roller coaster of highs and lows on a weekly basis. He quickly implemented an operations team to help build structure, systems, and processes that would make running the business enjoyable again.
This has proven to be a streamlined, repeatable process that we look forward to bringing to offices around Tennessee.
In his first few years of practicing, the issues within the current landscape of dentistry became very clear to Dr. Morton. This ignited the foundation that the organization would be built on.
We recognized that to establish an organization that genuinely prioritizes patients’ oral health and delivers the highest quality care, we needed to build a culture rich in talent and excellence.
We strive to make our growth a byproduct of our leadership, commitment to excellence for both our team members and patients, as well as adherence to our core values and our faith. We look forward to expanding into more markets in the state of Tennessee.

Working at Morton Dental Group offers the best aspects of both private practice and corporate dentistry while leaving out the downsides of each. Unlike corporate practices where doctors often face pressure to meet quotas or sacrifice patient care for efficiency, Morton Dental Group maintains individualized patient care and experiences, ensuring clinicians have the time and resources to build strong relationships with their patients. As a doctor-owned and led organization, we prioritize clinical autonomy, giving our dentists the freedom to practice in a way that aligns with their professional values while benefiting from a supportive, collaborative environment. Our strong leadership team fosters a positive office culture, where clear roles, expectations, and comprehensive team training ensure everyone is aligned and working toward common goals.
Additionally, Morton Dental Group provides robust benefits that are typically not found in private practice settings, such as health insurance, a 401k plan, and opportunities for career growth. Our well-established operational processes streamline day-to-day functions, allowing our doctors to focus on patient care while enjoying a high level of support from their team. With a strong commitment to professional development, our doctors and team members have the chance to continually expand their skills and take on leadership roles within the organization, making Morton Dental Group a place where you can grow both professionally and financially, with the potential to shape your long-term careers.
